Richmond Arbor Day April 16

When you can't find Louise Seals, it's usually because she's out pruning public trees, pulling ivy off the trunks at Byrd Park or otherwise helping Richmond "Stay Cool with Trees."

She also is chief organizer of Richmond's annual Arbor Day for the second year in a row. She and her fellow Richmond Tree Stewards have a multitude of activities planned for the Carillon area at Byrd Park: Music, tree climbing, free trees, a tree tour, yoga classes, vendors, exhibitors and fun for everyone.

Celebrity appearances scheduled include gardening expert Richard Nunnally and Clifford the Big Red Dog. The hours on April 16 are 10 a.m.– 2 p.m. rain or shine. Learn more: richmondtreestewards.wordpress.com/arbor-day-2/.
